Wendy

Wendy has been a primary teacher for all her adult life . Following a career in teaching across the primary age range in South London, Wendy spent some time in the U.S.A. where, alongside achieving a degree in Education and Child Development,she taught in both state and private schools as well as working in a parents cooperative preschool in Washington D.C.
On her return to England, Wendy attended Kings College, London,where she completed her Msc in Education in order to gain a deeper understanding of the educational needs of children. Shortly after this Wendy became Deputy Head and later Head of a successful London Primary school. Whilst under her headship the school was given an outstanding Ofsted award and appeared in the top 100 state primary schools In England according to The Times newspaper annual listing.
During her time as head ,Wendy took responsibility for S.E.N within the school, advising and training staff, working with pupils as well as maintaining a strategic overview of S.E.N.
Following her retirement ,Wendy continued to teach in small group and 1-1 lessons with pupils in KS2 at a primary school in Tunbridge Wells,Kent. These lessons ranged from teaching children who required interventions in Numeracy and Literacy , to tutoring Year 5 pupils for the 11+ exams .
Wendy moved back to the Leeds area very shortly before the Covid pandemic and is now really enjoying tutoring children in both KS1 and KS2 with Leap in2 Learning.
